September sped by in a blur of engagement rings, award entries and magazine development.
How is it October already?! What’s more, there are only 82 days until Christmas… not that we’re counting.
1st September – 77 Diamonds (Put A Ring On It)
Our first content marketing project with Mayfair jewellers 77 Diamonds involved celebrity engagement rings – 100 of them, to be precise. It took our researchers over sixty hours to analyse the bling of everyone from Kim Kardashian to Kate Middleton, taking into consideration factors such as the cut, clarity and value of each diamond. The result is the Celebrity Engagement Ring Trend Report, which has so far been covered by the likes of Vogue, Marie Claire and Brides.com.
6th September – Conservatories Galore
We are thrilled to have long-standing clients Visual, Amber, Wessex, Joedan and Mid Wales, part of the Conservatory Outlet family, back on board for another 12 months.
15th September – Brighton SEO
For music lovers, it’s Glastonbury; for F1 fans, it’s Silverstone; for digital marketers, it’s Brighton SEO. We were represented by Ric, Brett, Martyn, Dave and Helen, who were encouraged to return with as much industry news and knowledge as they could find to share with the team back home. If you haven’t already, you can read the highlights of the conference here.
22nd September – And The Award Goes To…
This month we entered the Drum Content Marketing Awards and the UK Search Awards. We’ll let you know how we get on… keep everything crossed for us!
26th September – Lingerie Winners and Losers
It was time to release the latest edition of our Lingerie Retailers Digital Insight Report, an analysis which compares the top 30 online lingerie brands from a digital perspective. (Sort of) fun fact: the UK’s most searched-for lingerie label is Ann Summers, followed by Victoria’s Secret. The highlights from the report have been covered by top trade titles including Lingerie Insight, Underlines and Fashion Network; you can download the full analysis here.
28th September – Tool Testing Fun
The data team has been testing out a new analytics tool, Needl, which provides automated analysis of our Google Analytics data and presents insights on various metrics using a digital dashboard. It’s early days, but we’ll continue to experiment over the next few weeks to see what meaningful insights it can help us extract from our data.
Methods In The Madness
This month Lucy introduced the agile, and more specifically, scrum, methodologies into our development team following her successful course last month. Working on a top secret project, we’ve been getting used to everything from user stories, planning sprints, having daily stand-up meetings and ultimately working better than we ever have before – so far it’s gone down very well and we’re loving our new collaborative way of working.
The most popular day for birthdays in the UK is September 26th, which may explain why so many staffers have been celebrating this month! A very happy birthday to James, Dan, Leigh and Jess 🙂
There’s something VERY EXCITING brewing in Newgate House that our developers are working hard on. We’ve been sworn to secrecy for the moment, but all will be revealed in due course…
Tune in next month for our Salience October tales. It might all get a bit spooky…
