SEO Copywriter Role

Want to do great SEO for a top 50, multi-award-winning search agency? £25,000 – £30,000 Hybrid/Chester

About Salience

Salience is a Chester-based search marketing agency. We’re looking for an SEO Copywriter to join our content team and write for a wide range of clients across ecommerce, B2B and travel.

We’ve been in search marketing since 2009. Our clients span retail, finance, lead gen and charity, and we’ve picked up awards across SEO, PPC and Content Marketing along the way. We’re human-first, which means we write for actual people, think strategically, and back every decision with data. Our content team sits at the centre of that. We produce everything from product page copy to long-form guides to LLM-optimised content, and we’re looking for someone who can hit the ground running.

Our Ideal Candidate

You’ve got at least 12 months of SEO content writing experience, agency-side or in-house. You know your way around a keyword brief, you can turn a product page into something a human actually wants to read, and you understand that ranking content has to be genuinely useful (and commercially sharp) to earn its place.

You’re organised. You hit deadlines. You take feedback well and can switch tone of voice between clients without breaking a sweat. You’re confident working alongside designers, developers, strategists and account managers, and comfortable at pace on larger campaigns with lots of moving parts. You’re curious about how search is changing, including how AI Overviews and LLMs are reshaping what “good” SEO content looks like.

What you’ll be doing

  • Writing SEO content across product pages, category pages, blog posts and guides
  • Developing creative ideas and concepts across channels where relevant
  • Working with the content team to plan content that targets commercial opportunities
  • Researching competitors and trends, spotting content gaps and pitching ideas we haven’t thought of yet
  • Auditing and improving existing client content based on performance data
  • Adhering to each client’s tone of voice and brand guidelines
  • Collaborating with design and account management teams, contributing to brainstorms and presenting ideas clearly
  • Managing your time across multiple clients and competing deadlines
