Pupil-teacher ratios have remained stable despite this increase. Numbers of pupils with special educational needs (SEN) has also been on the rise year on year since 2016. In January 2019, SEN pupils made up around 14.9% of the total pupil population. Since 2015, pupils with SEN support has also risen.
In January 2019, after the roll-out of Universal Credit, more pupils eligible for and claiming free school dinners increased by 15.4%. This is the highest percentage seen since 2014, as from 2014 to 2018 there was a downward trend.
