Liam's Experience
Liam is a first class Creative Writing graduate from Liverpool John Moore’s University. His passion for words and language landed him a 2-week contract at Salience to work on Dreams Beds commercial landing page copy.
That led to an offer of a copywriting role at Salience. From here, he became more and more interested in the strategic and data-analysis side of SEO and content marketing.
Since starting his role as Copywriter at Salience in 2018, he has taken more responsibility with how Salience approach content and is now Head of Content, after 1 and 2 year stints at Content Executive and Content Strategist.
Outside of Salience, his poetry collection Waldeinsamkeit (translation: the feeling of being alone in the woods) was published by Nine Pens Press in 2021 and he was a regular contributor to Urbanista Magazine, writing reviews of new music releases, gigs, festivals, restaurants and theatre shows.
Something You Are Proud Of
Optimising an unused and unvisited Mattress Size Guide for Dreams Beds and turning it into their fourth most popular on-site organic page, with a 232% increase in traffic and a 462% increase in revenue, taking transactions from 154 to 670.
Learning everything there is to know about bras and lingerie in his full site rewrite of Lingerie Outlet Store which resulted in 1777% increase in visibility, taking them from an ebay-only store to a mid-market player in less than 18 months. If you need to know the difference between a full-cup and a bralette, give him a shout.
On a late night in Chester, after a couple cocktails and with another in hand, the Salience team decided to describe each team member around the table with three words. We’ll leave the NSFW adjectives out but Liam is most proud that the adjective used to describe him most frequently was kind/caring.
A Bit About Yourself
Liam pretends to spend his weekends up mountains and walking the countryside but is usually at a late night gig or carousing his way about the city sipping coffees and pints of IPA.
He does however enjoy a good hike and is currently training for a marathon. He’s ran a number of organised races previously, with a half marathon being the furthest so far. He’s also an avid reader and likes nothing more than sitting by a warm fire in a country pub with his latest book of choice. Mid-week, you’ll find him playing snooker or out around the local farmer’s fields with his dog.
